Debra Nordberg – Wellness Coordinator
Debra joined the Doe Bay team in November 2016 and brings many years of natural healing experience to the island. Two years of pre-nursing education prompted an abrupt shift in Debra’s career choice. “I decided there must be a simpler and more natural way to improve and promote health in our population. I chose to attend New Mexico School of Natural Therapeutics for alternative healing modalities. I have never regretted this life changing path and wish to share my passion of healthy lifestyle choices with you”.
Debra is a lifelong resident of the Rocky Mountains of Wyoming and has happily traded her cross country skis and snow shovel for sand in her shoes. Her love of water and desire to learn to sail prompted her decision to move to Orcas Island. Debra likes to kayak, paddle board, run, bike, fish and camp. She looks forward to learning about the marine life and plants of the Northwest Pacific Coast.
Wyoming will always be “home” but she hopes to discover a new place that captures her heart and offers a view to watch the storms traverse the sea while a fire burns in the hearth.

Sharon has been an Orcas Island resident since 2006 and enjoys gardening, being on the water, cooking, traveling and astrology.
Suzanne Dege LMT and Esthetician
Suzanne’s interests in wellness and consciousness started when she was in her teens studying nutrition and paranormal subjects. Her other passion was also in dance, having received a BFA in Dance at FSU in 1984. Three years later (via SF & NY), she moved to Seattle where her focus in the Healing Arts blossomed. Suzanne studied various Healing Movement, Herbal Medicine, Nutrition, Astrology, Meditation, Emotional Healing, and other esoteric subjects. She apprenticed with a talented healer for many years along with studying spiritual based bodywork using Massage, Acupressure, and Energy Work in which treatments were 4-5 hours long. In 1996, Suzanne decided to get her massage license at Heartwood Institute in California, receiving training in Swedish, Deep Tissue, and Shiatsu. She has also pursued alternative studies in Plant Spirit Medicine, Matrix Energetics, Jin Shin, Human Design, and various consciousness studies.
One of Suzanne’s greatest joys has been to assist others thru healing touch using Swedish, Deep Tissue, Shiastu, and Energy Work. Being attentive, using a developed intuition while drawing on her experiences, Suzanne works on areas that need pressure and opening to give someone exactly what they need! All of this contributes to a sense of flow and a graceful unfolding with an intention to remind others of what is true and essential.
Peggy Jo Rain
Peggy Jo’s training began 17 years ago in Thailand where she fell in love with the fine art of Thai Massage. After returning to the US, she attended massage school in Santa Fe, NM, while raising her daughter and practicing massage therapy for 12 years.
As her massage work developed, her most natural progression has been to blend Thai techniques with the many western modalities she has studied and honed over the years. Peggy Jo believes the fusion of east meets west is a very effective approach for bringing balance back to the body and mind. Through intuition, she creates a massage that is just right for you, whether you need deep relaxation, release of tension from life’s daily stresses, or targeted therapeutic work.
Peggy Jo has selected very special and beautiful places to study and practice these healing arts and Orcas Island is no exception. She returned to this amazing healing island so her daughter could attend the local high school and now she finds herself coming full circle 25 years later, when Doe Bay was her first Orcas discovery.
Peggy Jo considers it is pleasure to share her passion and gift of healing through her profession at Doe Bay.
